Product Description
Yamaha
The Yamaha 62II Tenor Saxophone is an extremely free blowing and flexible professional tenor saxophone. The new G series neck offers the YAS-62II greater focus to the sound and improves overall intonation while the ribbed body keeps the tone dark and full. Other major features of the 62 Mark II include high F#, professionally styled keys and a beautifully hand engraved bell. An excellent entry level professional alto saxophone, the YAS62II is ideal for advancing students, serious amateurs as well a professionals. Each Yamaha 62II is complete with Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, cap and ligature, a sturdy plywood case and Yamaha saxophone care products.
Product Overview and Specifications
MARK II

The YAS-62II professional model alto saxophone and the YTS-62II professional tenor saxophone replace the YAS-62 and YTS-62, respectively. Both models come with the popular G1 neck, which is very open and free blowing. Annealing used in the manufacturing process gives the horns quick response, and updated pads with a silicon treatment make them more durable. The saxophones also include a lightweight case with a carrying strap.

For many players, the 62 is the instrument that put Yamaha saxophones on the map," says Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager. "Fans of the classic 62 Series won't be disappointed with the new horn. Even players that haven't tried Yamaha in a while will likely be blown away by the responsiveness of the new 62II."

I use a Yamaha model 62 tenor as a backup horn on gigs. My vintage Mark Vl is fragile and prefers to be played inside. The Vl also hates to do gigs on the beach. That's when the 62 comes into play. For me and the money, I can't think of a better 2nd horn than the 62. The sound of it is great, the action is good, although a little crude compared to the Vl, and the horn is fairly indestructible. I've had it for some time and it's never been to the shop. My Vl spends a lot of time at the shop. I can't think of a better step up horn for a young player, or a better lower priced professional level horn than the Yamaha model 62.

I only recently began playing at age 54. I had an old Selmer Bundy, but could never quite get it in tune. I checked reviews and bought this sax. What a difference!! I have received many compliments and doubts from people that I have only been playing 2 years as the sound of the instrument is wonderful. It certainly is not my ability at this point.
