Good for young players

The Power Lite series has worked well for me the past 4 years. I did not like the quads as well; I have young players for the most part on bass (we march 7-12) and so I went for the lighter weight drums. I strongly encourage the purchase of "Rim-Savers" because it will not take much to damage these light hoops; I have been in the process of replacing the hoops with championship hoops and that seems to work well... You may have a bit of a time with the lug bolts due to the wider hoop... But it is doable. I have not had a major tuning problem with the basses... The Power Lite quads did not take tension as well, however so I have now upgraded those to championship.

Great drum for all high school bass players

This drum creates a great sound on the marching field. I played one in high school and will play one in the college drumline. Terrific!.
