Musical Experience: Extensive classical (mostly violin); recently began trumpet
Style of music: classical
Hometown USA
In my short time playing the trumpet, I have tried some 20 mouthpieces, mostly after researching online reviews. I prefer a rich "symphonic" tone but also like to reach the normal high range consistently. The Brasswind 1 1/2C has been a very pleasant surprise, having a tone richer than the Schilke 14, Yamaha 14B4, or similar good Bach, Laskey & Marcinkiewicz models -- fairly similar to the Stork Vacchiano 2C -- but easily extends my high range and stamina beyond that available with any of these other mouthpieces. It has a comfortable rim and is easy to play in all registers, besides costing less than nearly anything else out there. It articulates cleanly, slurs smoothly, and allows easy dynamic shading. Very highly recommended!
