I work in a musical instrument store so I see all kinds of instruments both good and bad. I decided to try the banjo to improve my finger picking skills on the guitar and the music store was too high priced so I came to Music123 and bought the B8 Banjo Pack. If your a beginner to the banjo then this instrument will serve you well for a starter instrument and has everything you'll need to get going, however you will need to know how to set it up because it doesn't come with that information and the strap needs hooks to fasten it to the banjo the tone is fair and the action is fair. It has a flat finish and the 5th string is a tuning peg and not geared other then this it's a fairly well constructed instrument nothing fancy but for the money and the beginner it will do. I spent about 30 minutes setting it up and then begin playing the chords I know it sounds and plays like I expected it to for the price and I am not disappointed with it. So if you're a beginner and short on cash go for it you'll be ok with it. Hope this review helps you in your decision making process.
