Not bad, but I don't like the metal ferrule

I picked up the Vater whip as a means to add some color and versatility, as well as cut down on volume for certain playing situations in a church praise band. For that, this whip is good - it sounds a lot like brushes, or it can also sound like bundle sticks, depending on where you place the keeper for the bristles. What I don't like is that the metal ferrule has put dents in the die cast hoop for my snare drum. My suggestion if you are thinking about buying a nylon bristle whip is to buy the one with the plastic handle. I'm going to have to wrap mine with electrical tape or something to keep the ferrule from putting more dents in my snare, and I won't buy this model again if I find the need to replace them.
