I'm not exactly a professional on this sort of stuff, but I immediately noticed when I switched from my old mouthpiece (the one that came with the clarinet) to the M13, my horn sounded a lot better. I also tried the B45, but to my ears, the M13 sounded better.

When searching for "THE" mouthpiece some years ago, I eventually came across this beauty. It is one of the better mouthpieces out there and stays true. I play on a Buffet R13 with Vandoren reeds and this mouthpiece was just a match! I have a Selmer and when I played it with this mouthpiece, it wasn't too great. So watch out for that. I would really recommend this to an intermediate player only because it's one of those mouthpieces that helps your tone grow farther than imagined. I still like to pick this up from time to time and play with it. It still plays like the day it did when I got it!

ISearched in several places for a mouthpiece for the clarinet I have. Several had the same or similar but at much higher prices.

After playing Vandoren mouthpieces since 1984, I have yet to be disappointed. While I was happy with the years of service of my B45 and my 2RV, I moved onto the M13. What versatility! I use an Eddie Daniels Rovner ligature and Grand Concert Select Traditional 3.5 reeds. It even made my 34 year old Selmer Signet 100 sound spectacular! I now have a LeBlanc Sonata, my daughter plays a Buffet E11, and this mouthpiece makes both of us happy! It may have been designed for the R13, but from my experience, it will make any brand of horn sound like a million bucks! This mouthpiece is an absolute gem!
