I have used this gig bag for several years. There have been times that I have seen my gig bag be abused greatly (usually in airplane overhead compartments), and my trumpet has never suffered a dent. I like this bag because I can put my practice mute in the bell and my trumpet fits just fine. If I don't have a practice mute in there, the trumpet fits with the mouthpiece in it. I have never gotten my mouthpiece stuck doing that with this bag.

The current bags are still the best on the market for protection of your horn if you choose not to use a hard case. The only negative that has changed from the older model bags is the shoulder strap is no longer made of leather, but a standard black nylon strap that is pretty cheap in appearance. The zipper on the case also has changed direction from the older model as well which is a little awkward for use.
