Warmth, sensitivity, and articulation reminiscent of calfskin. Skin-like sound.

Renaissance Emperor heads are textured and consist of 2 thin plies which create a heavier, thicker head. A Great head for perhaps heavier playing with more sustain than a Pinstripe. They feature a textured surface which is excellent for sticks, brushes and mallets while at the same time providing a wider yet more balanced spectrum of sound.

Put the warmth of skin onto your snare. Order today!

Detailed Product Description

These heads have a very warm and tonal sound that's great for melodic expression and affords a wider, more balanced sound spectrum for tympani, snares, toms, and bass drums in any drumming application. These heads are the new worldwide industry standard for tympani drums in live or studio situations. For snare drums and timbales, textured surface provides excellent stick and brush response that will not degrade under harsh playing.

Got a set of these 2 years ago for my 3 toms. They compliment my mahogany shells perfectly because of the mellow tone that they project. I'm now replacing my bottom heads with the diplomats. I've usually dented single ply heads in the past, but these have held up after 2 years of hard playing. If you're a head knocker don't get these, because they’re not designed for it.

I bought these heads at first because of other reviews and their warm tonal qualities. I slapped them on and tuned them. They required a real high tuning to get sound out of them. Low tuning does not work to well. For my 14inch snare I tried one of these heads which gave it alot of ring. Which sounds like a piccolo now. They require some break-in time, they sound better the more you play on them. Overall I am very impressed with the renaissance heads.
