The Emperor heads are the darkest sounding and most durable of classic Weather King heads. They are made with two free floating plys of film, which give their consistent open tone. Emperor X heads are the thickest heads available from Remo and come with a black dot on the bottom making them perfect for snare drum use by for hard-hitters.
