This is a very well thought out case, and seems to be well made, with good padding, straps, and fittings. There is a stiffener in the bell area, possibly wood. But you need to know the length of and distance around your tuba and the case, not just the bell diameter. I tried one for a new Jupiter 584, which is 39" tall (or long). The case is 46". It's not big enough around for a horn with front pistons - zipping up the case depresses the valves, and whatever you put in the larger outside pouch (a big heavy music folder, for instance) bears against the valve stems. With the case so much longer than the horn, when you put it on your back, the horn wants to slide down to the bottom, but the stiff and shaped bell area of the case holds it, suspended by its bell rim. That can't be a good thing. I don't think you'd want the bell area of the bag to be too much bigger than the bell if your horn - if your bell is 16", the 18" bag probably wouldn't hold it very securely. If you find one that fits your horn, it's a good deal.

I've been using my case for about 6 months on my Kanstul KCG-200 Contrabass Bugle Grande. It's a glove fit (22 Inch Bell Version). Sure beats a wood case for portablity. It can be a little awkward to manage alone with larger tuba's the way it opens. With the getting it and out. I'm going to get one for my Olds Concert tuba next. Why spend twice the money on a wood case that is a drag to lug around, and if you have a tiny car (Like my Corolla) These are a perfect solution.
