an expensive habit, but worth it

The motto on every string envelope "I'm so happy I can't stop playing" is how I always feel when I change my strings. I have a Fischer viola, 15.25 inches but with a gorgeous sound. I have always been looking for a little more "punch" - but the complexity and generosity of the sound of the Evahs is a dream come true. BUT the strings only last about three months. Suddenly they are resistant, brittle and tense with a more soprano sound than I can tolerate. So be prepared to go through a set every few months. It's a little like an addiction to something that gives you a huge high - and when you come down you crave more (from what I've heard anyway.) To get this sound, I gladly spring for a new set when they get old. Just keep that sound coming!
