In my search for the perfect oboe (for me), I have played just about EVERYTHING. I wanted to be different, and at the same time try everything so I would be sure I found the best horn for ME. This is it. Velvety, smooth tone from top to bottom, has a beautiful ring to the sound, and the low notes speak like butter. It's also extremely well built, and I really like that the Patricola brothers season their wood for upwards of 13 years so the chances of cracking are very, very slim. (Especially important, as my Patricola is Brazilian rosewood with a gold mechanism, and rosewood is very crack prone) Kudos, Patricola brothers...you've made my dream oboe!
