I got theses cymbals about a week ago and I love them. They are the perfect cymbals for the beginner. By far my favorite cymbals are the hi-hats, which I have absolutely no complaints about, but the ride cymbals could be a bit less washy. No real problems, though. If you plan to get this set, I would recommend getting the PST 3 splash cymbal as well, (It's only $20) because this cymbal pack does lack a cut-through sound. (because it's a medium pack instead of a thin.) I would personally recommend getting the PST 5 pack instead of the PST 3, but this pack will definitely work, too.

These cymbals sound amazing!! The crash DOES have a very long decay and is really loud. The ride has a clean cutting sound, and the hi-hat has an amazing sizzle sound and a clean, short "chick". Use glass cleaner to polish the cymbals, and unlike in the picture shown on this website, the cymbals are very brilliant when cared for and polished every month.

I've been drumming for about 8 months and decided to upgrade from my original cymbals to something new. First is the price, it's priced good for quality of sound, but falls short of excellent. The only cymbal I don't like is the crash. It can't compete with the volume the rest of my band puts out. It sounds muffled and decays fast, good for frantic speed and attacking, but it does sound good and clear when hit exceptionally hard. Now the positive, the ride is solid and vary loud pearses nicely and is vary sharp, the slightest touch will send it ringing for 20-25 seconds, the bell doesn't do much it has a thick thud. The hi-hats are excellent. I would recommend the essential pack w/the ride & HHs save the left over money for a rainy day or a better cymbal.
