I bought an Otto Link 7 for alto and a 6* for soprano about 2 1/2 years ago and it took a little break in time. Also the lig that it came with was not the best so I bought some Rovners for them both and now they sing like you would not believe I have a cannon ball alto and use a Rico 2 1/2, and I have an LA SAX soprano and I use a Vandoren ZZ 21/2 reed. So a great piece. Just get rid of the lig and you’ll be fine. The altissimo is fun because of the weight balance of these pieces they are really easy to hit after the break in time period they are the most fun I’ve had playing. You’ll be glad you have them

This is my one metal mouthpiece, and is outstanding. It can do the soft, mellow thing; but I think it feels more at home with that groaning, screaming tonality it has.

At first I ordered the 7* link just to see how the metal mouthpieces were on my Cannonball. I previously played on a size S8S Diamond Inlay, and tried a couple Meyer mouthpieces. I was blown away at the sound I got immediately. This mouthpiece had such a rich sweetness to it that I had never heard before and it is working great in our jazz band. I can control the sound so easily and it has the nicest buzz when you push it hard. It made me and everybody around me a believer in metal alto mouthpieces.

I honestly could not believe the sound quality that came out of this mouthpiece. The Otto link is probably the most fun mouthpiece to get griddy with on a nasty funk tune. Altissimo range is especially easier with this guy. I'm an Alto player at heart, but when it came to playing tenor, I hoped on with an Otto link 7 hooked up with a Vandoren #3.5 ZZ reed...this sucker can SCREAM. I highly recommend this for an experienced musician, as it does take a lot of ear to find the sweet spots. If you can master this mouthpiece, you'll enjoy every second playing it.
