The 1292 is similar to the Miraphone 1291 with the addition of a bell garland to increase the dynamic potential of the instrument and a slightly smaller leadpipe which tightens it up ever so slightly. This horn is very similar to Alan Baers personal instrument.

This is not an instrument for the meak or timid. I popped a helleberg into this thing, grabbed it, and played one note, and fell in love. This instrument produces a monstrous sound if a little air is put into it. Phenomenal, clean yet round tone. The best instrument I've played.
