I tried several different models of isolation phones and these are by far the best. Most phones make the drums sound dead and muffled--some people like this "dead" sound, but I prefer the StudioKans by far--the sound has a depth and clarity that consistently blows me away. Something about the liquid-filled ear cushions lets just the right frequencies through to get a real engineered sound. Which makes playing more fun and gratifying. The volume control on the right earpiece makes them very convenient for monitoring. If you use these as live monitors, be sure to get yourself some kind of gate to protect against soundboard mishaps--rare, but they do happen and can quickly damage your ears.

I have had my studio kans for about two years. I had tried others, but these are the best by far! I enjoy the volume control the most because I have the control over it. As far as comfort, like any headphone, they can get a little hot. I have also told my bandmates,if they whisper into the mic, I can hear them perfectly. My ears really do thank me the next day, and right after I take them off, because I can hear perfectly, or the best I can from the hearing loss I already have. Do your ears a favor and get yourself a set of studio kans.
