Why Woodwind & Brasswind ?

The playful sound if the Qweeka originates in Brazil- the land of the samba. While one hand rubs the internal bamboo shaft with a moist cloth, the other hand controls the pressure of the head thereby changing the pitch of the tone. The premium fiberglass shell features the Floatune tuning systems 8" goatskin head.

The cuica drum (or 'Qweeka' drum as coined by Meinl) is popular in Brazilian Samba music. To play the percussion instrument, one hand controls the pressure of the head thereby changing the pitch of the tone and the other hand rubs an internal bamboo shaft with a moist cloth.
