I needed a case as tough as they get; I assumed Martin's top-of-the-line case would fit the bill. I'd give this to them - it looks great. Molded case, with a beautiful Martin logo embossed outside (really cool), green plush lining inside - looks like a million bucks. It is sturdy on the outside - what you'd expect from a molded case such as this. It is also well-balanced when carrying - an important feature. This case has some serious shortcomings. First, the hinges, flimsy and do not even carry the weight of the open cover. They'd just bend over if it weren't for the also-flimsy single ribbon that connects the case cover to the base. Not surprisingly, a few months after I bought it, without going through anything tough - I actually treat it very gently - the flimsy ribbon broke (detached from its glue) and the cover just flipped open 180 degrees. Not good news for the hinges. I fixed the ribbon - but, these hinges are clearly not gonna last. I may end up having to replace all three hinges. All in all, it is rather tough and great looking - but I'm really dismayed by the quality of this case.
