Bio
B.M., Oberlin College; M.M., Catholic University; postgraduate diploma, Manhattan School of Music (Andrew Goodman Award for excellence in clarinet performance). Guy's principal teachers were Robert Marcellus, Anthony Gigliotti, and Marcel Moyse. He currently holds principal positions with the Joffrey Ballet Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Guild Orchestra, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Lake George Opera Festival, the Fairfield Connecticut Orchestra and the Queens Symphony Orchestra. He has performed as concerto soloist with the Long Island Philharmonic on four occasions, Queens Symphony, Fairfield Orchestra, and the Ives Center Orchestra. In addition, he performs frequently with the Jupiter Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Collegiate Chorale, and the New Jersey Symphony. He is a founding member and was for many seasons artistic director of the Chelsea Chamber Ensemble, a group made up of winds, strings and piano which presents concerts at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and throughout the Eastern United States.


The recipient of solo performance grants from the Martha Baird Rockefeller Fund and the Alice M. Ditson Fund, Guy has presented solo recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., and at many other halls throughout the U.S. He has toured throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Far East, and has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, the New York City Ballet, Orpheus Ensemble, Orchestra of St. Luke's, American Composers Orchestra, Da Capo Chamber Players, Sylvan Winds, Speculum Musicae, and the Manhattan, Vermeer and Emerson string quartets.
