These reeds are a good blend for a beginner on the clarinet like me. A medium will easily allow you to get to high g, as well as have a good dark tone on the lower register.

Out of all the reeds I have tried and my teacher has tried, we have both found these reeds to live up to their name. I get rich, classy tone from these reeds. Perfect for jazz and also performs well for all other types of music. They're reasonably priced and last a long while.
