It is great and it is inexpensive. When you are in a noisy band room warming up, a tuner will pick up pitches from all the other instruments and it is difficult to have the tuner pick up on your own tuning. With the contact microphone attached to the end of your horn and the other end plugged into your tuner, the tuner can only hear you playing. All other background noise is eliminated. It also works great to have attached during a practice. You can see where your pitch is in relation to the group and to actual pitch on the tuner. It would be great if everyone could have one of these and a tuner on their stand during practice. It would help everyone learn to listen and adjust to play in tune.
