This horn is very ruggedly made. I played one marching with the Blue Knights and simply loved the horn. The valves weren't like a Bach horn, but if taken care of, sufficed well. If I was to ever teach a hornline, I highly would recommend a set of King horns. I personally also like them because the conical shaping allows them to be dark and resonate, the same philosophy that gives G bugles their power on the football field.

I personally own one and use it for marching band and symphonic settings. The larger bell size allows the player to use a maximum amount of air while still being able to keep the sound dark and resonant. I would recommend this horn to any upper level high school musician that is looking for that edge to carry into the next season of marching.

The Magic Drum & Bugle Corps is using the King Ultimate Marching Brass this year and I had a chance to listen to the corps this past Memorial weekend and by switching to King it has completely changed the tone of the corps to a nice clear and rich sound. Also had some time to play around on a trumpet. Although you will have to drown the valves with valve oil till you get them worked in. Excellent projection and tone quality. Came with a nice hard cargo case for stacking. And for the price, you can't beat it.
