I loved the sound I got out of these mouthpieces. (I've played on every size), but it isn't a sound well suited for a concert band or orchestra. They gave me a very diffused and dark tone which I found great for jazz solo work. The problem is I can't really get them to zip like I can my Schilke’s or Bach’s. So if you’re worried about comfort or temperature or if you just want that soft Maynard Fergusson tone, then you can't go wrong with a Kelly. But for a concert setting they really are not a good option. I only wish they came in more sizes.

I bought a couple of Kelly mouthpieces in black - one for my tenor trombone and one for my trumpet. The sound quality is indistinguishable from a Vincent Bach of the same size - and at a fraction of the cost! The mouthpieces are very durable and don't seem to chip or shatter when dropped. Plus, I've used the trombone mouthpiece on a cold weather gig this past winter, it must have been about 25 degrees out, and the trombone slide froze up, yet no problems with the mouthpiece! It felt great! You gotta have one of these for every horn you own. What's your favorite color?

I saw the mouthpieces on there web site and I liked the look, but I though that would effect the sound a lot. Man was I wrong there sound as good as my gold-plated Bach Megatone 7c!! I highly recommend these mouthpieces they are very comfortable and look GREAT!
