I've always been interested in melodicas in general. This is the first one I ever bought. It is a great instrument! ANYONE can play this thing! I also bought a brand new guitar the same time I bought this melodica. As much as I love my new guitar, I can honestly say I enjoy playing this $35 melodica just as much as I enjoy playing my $400 guitar. You can really have a lot of fun with this thing and it has a wonderful sound much like a mix between a harmonica and an accordion. Can’t beat the price!

My new melodica made its public debut in a parade, within a marching band! I added a neck strap to the handle, and it was very stable, lightweight and easy to play. Alto sax parts work very well in the range. But I would not advise playing octaves on it, as its intonation is poor on some notes. Then later, I left the melodica on the roof of my car and drove away! It took a dive onto the pavement...I retrieved the thing from the side of the road, and discovered no major damage! The keys were a bit scratched...but the thing still played perfectly. And now it has some battle scars and a story to tell, like my other instruments. In all, a huge bargain and a crazy tango-accordion-like sound that will be enjoyed thoroughly.
