One of our most popular student mouthpieces. Although marketed as student line mouthpiece, the Hite Premiere Bb clarinet mouthpiece is used by many professionals because of its rich sound and flexibility. The Hite Premiere clarinet mouthpiece is extremely popular as "step-up" mouthpieces for players who would benefit from a better mouthpiece but are put off by the higher prices. |

Hite Premier Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece
Description Produced in one medium preferred facing, the PREMIERE clarinet mouthpiece line is hand finished to the highest professional standards, much more accurately than higher priced production finished mouthpieces. The acoustically efficient design results in a pleasant, resonant sound produced without excessive physical effort. The medium facing is well suited to a Vandoren No. 3 (or comparable) reed. |

This is definitely the best mouthpiece for the money! I have played many mouthpieces, I own eleven different ones, and I've given a few away! This very inexpensive Mouthpiece produces an excellent tone, good projection and ease of play. Try not to use reeds that are too hard. The professional standard reed (Vandoren or similar) strength 3 works very well. Students find an easier time making music.

As a music teacher, I'm eager to make sure my young woodwind players are having fun as well as producing a good sound. The Premier by Hite clarinet mouthpiece provides excellent 'blow ability' as well as a nice, strong, clear sound. Students usually find instant 'success' when they transition to this mouthpiece. Flexible enough to accommodate classical playing (open bottom end, nice clear high notes) as well as jazz performance (like glissando and solo work), the Premiere - when combined with a Rover 1R ligature, has become 'standard issue' in my music practice.

My first clarinet had Selmer Goldentone #3 which was easy to master, yet my teacher found it too "bright". Got a Yamaha 4C which has a great darker tone yet was harder to blow. Finally I awarded myself a Hite Premiere, and despite having tried other "better" mouthpieces, I still consider my Premiere the best for me. Easy articulation, not too hard nor too soft, just great. It's not the end of squeaks but definitely the end of hisses.
A Rovner "dark" ligature works perfectly, and together with Mitchell Lurie #3 reeds you have a winning combination. I think I buy a second one, just to have a backup in case.
