Without a doubt the best mouthpiece I've ever played on. Until now, I always thought Dukoff was the standard for cutting-edge metal sax mouthpieces. And I was just about to buy another Dukoff for my tenor, but I held off on the purchase once I read the reviews other players had about the MBII. Boy, were they right! Very rarely will a mouthpiece "fit like a glove" on first trial, but this one was like a soul mate. Absolutely amazing. I did not expect such a seamless transition. My family noticed the difference in sound immediately when I was wailing away in my room. My wife who always complains about how loud I play said I was even louder! Not a bad thing considering that I play in a horn section alongside a trumpet player who wails like there's no tomorrow. There's finally parity! Aside from it being louder, the tonal quality is just stunning. So beautiful. Really, the best analogy I have is that it's like trading in your ho-hum sedan for a Ferrari. You can push this mouthpiece and take the hairpin turns without compromise. It'll let you do the things you never thought you could do. Seriously, my only knock on this mouthpiece was the standard cloth ligature it came with. Add a couple of minutes to your normal set-up time because this one kind of takes time getting used to. I'll be honest; I was not used to playing on a mouthpiece with such a large tip opening, so my chops gave out on me after an hour-and-a-half. But the pain was worth it. I highly recommend this mouthpiece to anyone wanting to take their game up a notch. You get what you pay for, so don't flinch at the price.
