I bought this case for my Ovation Magnum I, which is a very hard to fit bass. It's long, with a long body as well. After much study of specs on the Gator website, I determined this case should fit it. And it does. In fact, it fits it so perfectly it was as though they were made for each other. Gator's specs were right on. Due to some of the things that protrude from the Magnum, like the mute lever, I had to compress the foam a bit in the top of the case for a safe fit. It was easy though. There is a lot of room in the headstock area, so the slant head of my bass a perfect fit. There is about an inch of hard foam around the body compartment (and indeed the entire case), which is rectangular right up to the storage compartments, and it is also raised a bit compared to the headstock area, which allows slant headstocks to fit nicely.

I've been at the bass for 35 years, and have finally found the best case in ANY CLASS. Stronger than it has to be, extremely attractive, functional, triple plated chrome like a Cadillac. Even at $300, I've never seen better.
