Product Overview and Specifications
Protect Your Instrument

Highly impact resistant
A specially formulated hard foam is used. This foam is expensive, dense and highly impact resistant. We test the hard foam by bouncing a 300gm glass ball on the foam laid over a glass plate. Only if the glass ball or glass plate does not break, chip or crack, then the foam is approved for use. Ordinary bags use soft foam, which does not protect.

Hard Protection
For all round total protection, there is no gap under the seam. A removable wooden disc padded with hard foam ensures double protection under the seam to the vulnerable bell area of your music instrument. In ordinary bags the foam protection stops short 1/2" (12mm) on both sides of the seam. Along the seam there is a 1" (25mm) gap in foam protection. The bell lip of the music instrument slips into this unprotected gap under the seam and is easily damaged by any impact on the seam.

No Gap Under Zipper
For all round total protection there is no gap under the zipper. A band of thick hard foam is sewn under the zipper (zipper guard). This zipper guard prevents the music instrument from damage by impact or by scratches from the zipper. In ordinary bags there is a gap in foam protection under the zipper. Without any protection the music instrument is easily damaged by any impact on the zipper. It is also easily scratched by the zipper.

I just received my Gard tuba gig bag from Brasswind, and I can't enough about it--it comes with 2 extra protectors to cover the bag if it rains, had a nice bell protector device for the inside, has heavy duty padding, zippers, carrying & backpack straps, etc. You can't go wrong with these bags--and for the money, they are the best deal going!

I bought that gig bag in spring 2006 and have been carrying my 4/4 BB tuba Miraphone in it all around the place and it's holding very well. I have yet to put a dent on my tuba. The gig bag still looks like brand new, the straps are holding well and the metal braces for it make it hard to tear. A friend of mine owns a Protec gig bag for a 3/4 CC tuba and had the zipper replaced twice since I got mine. It's by far the best money I spent for a gig bag. I just recommended it to a student trombone player that is starting college and he was amazed to find one under $100.
