This is a great little amp for the price and is small enough to bring anywhere. The amp works on a 9 volt battery for about 4 hours of continuous playing. The distortion gets a bit muddier as the batteries wear out, though, so I would consider getting a 9 volt AC adapter if you're not actually playing on the road. One problem I have had with the Mini Deluxe is that it is a little TOO light. That's normally a great situation if you've packing this amp to go somewhere, but once you actually plug the cable into the top of the amp, it will often cause the light amp to topple over on its face. I wish Fender had thought to either place the input jack on the side of the amp or put some weights in the amp to make it bottom-heavy. Other than that, I've had no problems. It works as advertised and is very loud. I wouldn't turn it all the way up where I live!

When there's a fresh set of batteries in this little amp, it will perform very well. The distortion will get muddier and buzzier as the battery power wears out (it takes about 4 hours of playing to burn out the batteries). I'd recommend buying an A/C adapter for it if you're not playing out of the house. One other thing to keep in mind is that this amp is very lightweight, which is good for travel but bad for keeping it upright on a surface. The cable input jack is at the top of the amp, which--when plugged in--will often tip the amp over. Other than those nitpicky issues, I'd say it is well worth the money you're paying for this. It gets fairly loud. I live in an apartment and I would never dare turn it all the way up.
