Don't let the price fool you. These are really great strings. I've used these on a fender jazz bass, a p-bass, a mosrite, an EB-O, and currently a short scale epiphone hollow body bass. They've performed very well on all of them. In fact these are the only bass strings I use now. If you're looking for mellow attack with tone by the ton this is it!

I bought the Fender 9050L Flatwounds for my Breedlove Acoustic Bass. This was a match made in Bass Player heaven! The stock bronze roundwounds were harsh and the hands, harsh on the ears, and and harsh on the fingerboard! The Fender Flatwounds should be THE choice for those with fretless acoustic basses or any bass where you want a upright sound. The best thing about these flatwounds is that they have very little string noise. I can slide up and down without that annoying saw sound. In other words, these flatwounds give me the tone I've been seeking for years! Do your research and check out flatwounds. You'll find lots of interesting insights. Fender 9050M or L flatwounds will give you the unique bass tone you've been looking for.
