A Great head for certain drums

All in all this is a great head. It has it's short commings when it comes to snare response and tuning. If you are using a drum such as a pearl championship I strongly recommend this head. The pearl snare strainer has 16 snares and you can get decent snare response with this head without tuning it too tight. On the Yamaha sfz this head falls short. The strainer on an sfz only has 10 snares so you must tune the head tighter to get more of a response. The problem there is that if you tune these heads too tight you will get a very distinct overtone that you don't want (it really cuts through). If you plan to use this head on a pearl i suggest you buy it. If you have an sfz you should take a look at the thinner MX5.

The Pearl snare strainer has 16 snares (I believe) and you can get decent snare responce with this head without tuning it too tight. The problem there is that if you tune these heads too tight you will get a very distinct overtone that you don't want (it really cuts through). If you plan to use this head on a Pearl I suggest you buy it.
