The first three strings are made of a solid nylon filament that is similar, although not the same as, to the nylon used for fishing line. These strings also feature ball ends to attach to the bridge of the guitar. The fourth, fifth, and sixth wound strings are made of a 80/20 bronze alloy wrapped around a nylon floss core.
