The Epiphone Les Paul Custom has a warm thick sound with lots of sustain. This guitar will never sound shrill. It is great for those that just don't want to spend much more money on an American Gibson Les Paul. The guitar's pickups have warm smooth highs with plenty of fullness in the bass and midrange frequencies. The guitar has simulated inlay and multiple binding with square fingerboard markers that make the guitar look great. As with any guitar, regardless of price, it is recommended to get a good guitar tech to make sure the guitar is set up properly from the factory for optimum playability. If you want sound more like a U. S. Gibson Les Paul Custom, you can replace the existing pickups with U. S. Gibson pickups like 490R neck and 498T bridge pick ups for more detail, definition, and clarity.

I play this thing almost everyday - it has some of the best neck action on a guitar I've ever used, and the sound that comes from it is astounding. This is for a budgeted musician who seeks real quality for price - a definite buy.

Okay I tried this guitar out before I bought it , and it's freakiing amazing! It's beautiful, I love the alpine white with a passion, it's retro and is cool looking on stage, epiphone guitars are a good company, many major bands use them such as hawthorne hights and my chemical romance, you cant go wrong with this guitar at all it beats the ginbson!
