About Rousseau Mouthpieces
Each year, more saxophonists throughout the world are discovering the advantages provided by E. Rousseau mouthpieces. The reason is simple: E. Rousseau mouthpieces work. They work because Eugene Rousseau, active throughout the world as a soloist, has transformed the demands of today's performer into precision performance tools. When you purchase an E. Rousseau mouthpiece, you are making an artistic investment. You know that your investment is sound when you consider that all E. Rousseau mouthpieces meet the following rigid standards: (1) a unique, practical design that balances the baffle, sidewalls, and facing; (2) use of the finest quality hard rubber and metal; (3) thorough and exhaustive field-testing prior to manufacturing; and (4) careful inspection of each mouthpiece prior to shipping.

I've played with this mouthpiece for nearly 10+ years and I love it. I recorded with this mouthpiece and the sound came out very pleasing focused and present. Intonation is on the button. Bad thing is that after all these years it feel from my hands and the tip broke. Right now I'm playing with a metal Dukoff and I'm dying to have my SJ7 back. I would recommend this mouthpiece to anyone. It's fun to play with too. Buy one if you have the chance, they aren't expensive and sound beautiful. I'm ordering one right now!!

I bought the SJ6 to get a little more edge than I get with my Super Session F. It is a good match. When you want a little more brilliance on the front edge of a note for emphasis, this piece has it. I use Vandoren ZZ 2.0 reeds and a Rovner EVO-5 lig. The sound is great over the full range of the horn, including G3. The intonation is better than any other mouthpiece I have including a Bari, Morgan and two Selmers. I was going to wait until I could afford to try a Dukoff for jazz. But I think this does it for me. The Super Session is still best for playing basic pretty ballads with a little cool jazz. The Rousseau SJ6 gets used when I want to add some flare.
