I march one of the fabulous horns in the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. I've never played a contra any better to this one. We would just rock out on these in our sections. Such power low deep sound. Makes your insides vibrate and all that jazz. I 115 percent recommend this magnificent beauty of a horn.

I have been playing tuba for 13 years. When I first joined drum corps back in 1999, I had the opportunity to play a 4/4 Dynasty 2 valve contrabass bugle. I've played and tested many others since then but never quite found a horn that I thought looked or sounded as good as that particular horn. When I tried out senior corps years later, I had a chance to take the plastic off a brand new Dynasty 875. The horn was about the same size, but as soon as I brought it up to play, I realized had found the horn I would dream of for a long time. It had a humongous sound, but was easily accessible. The lower range just sings freely, whereas on any other tuba I've played you have to force the low/pedal notes to get them to project. At the time the list price for one of these horns was well over $5,000, so I never guessed I'd get to own one. But, a small junior corps near me had just folded and sold off their equipment, and I had a chance to buy an 875 for next to nothing. It needed pretty significant repairs, but even with the battle damage, it still played better than any tuba I've played yet. I even took it to my local community concert band, and although the conductor was worried it couldn't be converted upright, he had absolutely no complaints of its indoor sound quality. I intend to play this tuba for many different applications for a very long time. Now I'm even more excited about my 875 because the BLUE DEVILS are marching 12 of them this year, and they sound awesome!
