Don't Fret replaces the "tape on the fingerboard" method of teaching fingerings to beginning string students. Invented by Dr. Phillip Coonce, educator and professional violinist, Don't Fret was designed to save time for the classroom teacher by eliminating the need to apply tapes to the instruments and the margin of error created by the slipping and fraying tapes.
Color coded
The appliqué is made of a vinyl base for durability, backed by a light adhesive to minimize the residue if removed. The lines are based on acoustical ratios. Colored lines outline the basic finger positions and white lines illustrate the chromatic tones. Don't Fret is printed with high-quality dyes that are immediately baked after printing under a UV light for sharpness, accuracy, and longevity.
