I bought this mute because I wanted to increase my air flow/ support and it worked like a charm. Because the mute gives so much resistance it gave me a more open tone with much more support to the sound. Playing piano is challenging, however after playing softly with the mute in, once the mute is removed softer volumes now have a more open and full tone. This is an excellent mute, definitely worth the buy.

I bought this mute because I can't practice as often as I would (I live in flat - family, neighbors). It allows for playing at different hours, but in my opinion it's good only for technical practice (etudes, scales). The sound with mute is very poor, and it's make resistance for the air. It's good for play fff, but p or pp dynamic is very hard to play or impossible, because of resistance. It's not what I expected. Big advantage of this mute is the price.
