The Denis Wick DW5500 Series Trumpet Straight Mutes feature a high quality spun aluminum construction with a precise intonation design. The DW5504 features an all aluminum construction with excellent response. The DW5504C features an aluminum cone with a copper bottom for a warmer sound that works well when blending with strings in an orchestra. The DW5514 Pianissimo Straight utilizes the cone section of the DW5531 Cup Mute, which provides excellent clarity without being too open when used at very soft dynamics.

I really love the Denis Wick straight mute. I bought it earlier this year and found it to be the perfect sounding straight mute for the pieces I needed it for in our musical and in our symphonic band. This mute has a really good tone and projection. I would definitely recommend this mute.

My school owns a set of these mutes. I've played on them for three years straight. They always fit snuggly in the bell and are quite durable. I'm used everything from Humes and Berg to Harmon. I find Dennis Wick to be superior.

I have been playing for a while now. Out of all the straight mutes I have ever used this is by far my favorite. It has a wonderful tone and just the right amount of cork. I highly recommend it.
