I got a gift card one Christmas and bought the Danelectro Fish and Chips EQ. It is a great little tool for very little cash. I have used it so much I’m considering buying two more. The small footprint makes it fit well on any pedal board and most importantly it sounds great. When bypassed it does not seem to suck any tone from my axe. I use it mostly for my clean tone between the guitar and amp. I give the guitar a boost at 200 and it gives it a sweet jazz tone, nice and punchy, it just brings the whole rig to life. I use a loop system so my effects run through a loop and my clean tone runs into the Danelecto EQ through another loop and straight in to my Vibrolux reverb. I have tried but can’t get the clean tone this EQ provides with other pedals. It just proves you don’t have to spend a lot nowadays to get great tone!

I wanted an EQ pedal to play around with; I checked out a higher priced one but did not want to spend $99 so I picked this one up. I probably would not use it to gig with, but for playing in my basement it fits the bill just fine. Works just about as good as the $99 one for a third of the price. The battery compartment on dano pedals is a pain to get open but I use a wall wart to power it with so I didn't care. Like any other EQ pedal it will be noisy if you are cranking all the sliders to the max. I use it mainly for a mid-boost. I am quite happy with it for the money spent.

I own this little guy and I have to tell you it is very good at what it is supposed to do. It will warm up anything you plug in to it. We actually ran our entire setup through it to see how it would sound...It did very well considering it is not intended for such a use. In short, buy it and see what I say...I have 25 years of musical experience so believe me you won't be disappointed.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SIMPLE EASY WAY TO TWEEK YOUR SOUND YOU WILL LIKE THIS. There is no line noise at all from the adapter. Do yourself the favor and don’t let the low price make you think that it’s a low end product on the pedal list. I’m not saying that you will have a guitar player’s spiritual awakening from this but you will feel that this is a sweet little tool to have.
