MINIATURE HYPERCARDIOID MICROPHONE
GLM 100
The Crown® GLM-100, or "Great Little Mic," is a miniature omnidirectional electret condenser microphone designed for professional recording and sound reinforcement. It offers all the quality of large studio microphones, yet is nearly invisible in use. Made of a rugged, resilient space-age material, the GLM-100's molded housing is designed to resist damage from demanding professional use. Performance benefits of the GLM include: a wide, smooth frequency response; excellent transient response; minimal offaxis coloration; very high overload level (150 dB SPL); and very low vibration pickup. The GLM output is balanced, low impedance, which allows long cable runs without hum pickup or high-frequency loss. The frequency response of large microphone capsules often is degraded by the microphone housing (due to sound diffraction). In contrast, the GLM's housing is designed to actually improve the high-frequency response of the microphone capsule.
The GLM can be clipped or taped onto an acoustic guitar, sax or flute to allow the performer freedom of movement. It can be attached to drum rims to pick up a drum set without the unsightly clutter of boom stands. Used as a lavalier microphone, or hidden on a film set, the GLM disappears in use yet provides excellent sound quality. The mic comes with the following mounting accessories: GLM-UM Universal Mount, GLM-TB Tie Bar, and GLM-BC Belt Clip, plus the WS- 2 windscreen.
GLM 200
Also for instrument applications, the GLM-200, a miniature hypercardioid, offers the same size advantages as the GLM-100 but provides extra gain-before-feedback for critical sound reinforcement applications. Another feature is uniform off-axis rejection. Ideal for musical instrument reinforcement or recording. Extra reliability is provided by flex/strain relief systems at both the microphone and cable connector
