Hometown Massachusetts
Any serious clarinet player should have one of these simple tools in his/her reed fixing kit. It is very simple to use. I instruct my students to also use an emory board to smooth out the corners as any reed clipper is going to leave a rough edge. If the clipper gets dull, clip a piece of aluminium foil a few times to sharpen it. A final note: WWBW has very competitive prices as do a few other online companies, and this is a very appropriate price for this clipper; if you find it for more than about $23.00, then you are getting ripped off!

Hometown I don't know you that well...
… my lesson teacher bought one and I've used it a couple of times. It really helps to save the reeds that you really like. Even if that special reed that plays just right gets chipped, just clip the top, and it's practically new.
