This is a compact bubble machine but it has a flaw and that is the fan. It is a weak one and is very sensitive to the type of bubble juice you put in it so you must be careful. I have tried several solutions that are not the "official" commercial juice because I don't want to pay $20 a gallon or more. I have tried the bubble juice from "Walgreens" here in Seattle but this juice is too thick. Other solutions can be made from dishwashing detergent and water and the mix here is critical with this machine. Some work better than others. Be aware that with the home made "brew" you don't get constant bubbles but random bubbles in spurts. Not all the little yellow O rings will produce bubbles when the wheel rotates. A few will and it will produce a few bubbles to spurts of many bubbles randomly. Random bubbles have one good point and that is the solution lasts a lot longer before you have to fill it. Using home made juice mine ran 3 plus hours before I had to refill it at a party. The good part is this machine is almost all plastic and is very light, small and easy to carry. The larger model is heavy and large and not as much fun to use. One other point and that is this machine works best on a stand in the air where the bubbles can "float in the air". I made a wood mount to put it on a commercial speaker stand so mine operates at 6 feet in the air. Running a bubble machine on a table is not very efficient.
