Great pedal

Before trying this pedal, I tried the Rocktron hush. Right out of the box the thing smelled like paint, anyway I hooked it up the way they said to, and my rig actually sounded noisier. I played with it for a while, but couldn’t really get it to sound good; needless to say I took it back to the store. I bought this pedal and hooked it up the way the booklet said. I had no noise from the get go, now I have a big muff pedal, and if you’ve never tried it, that thing makes a lot of noise, and this thing stopped it, completely.

If you use a high-gain amp then you absolutely cannot go without this gate any longer. I have this as the last pedal in my signal chain before my amp, and I never turn it off. Contrary to some other gates, this does not affect your tone at all. I'm currently using a Dean ML through an Ampeg VH-140C, with a self installed EMG 81. I'm not the best at installing pickups so I have a ground hum issue. With this pedal, the sound completely stops when I stop it. There are other gates such as the ISP Decimator and Rocktron Hush systems, but this does a better job than the rocktron at half the price of the ISP. It also serves as a power distributor for your other pedals. It cannot be beat, especially if your playing style includes sudden stops where silence is essential.
