Only days after had I bought this case for a new and expensive cello did I experience a mishap. While driving, the cello slid out of the back of a pick-up truck. I looked out my rear view mirror to see the cello lying in the middle of a busy road at rush hour with oncoming traffic headed toward it. I managed to rescue the cello before it was hit by a car, but was still prepared for the worst. To my amazement, there were only a couple of very minor scratches to the case, but most importantly there was absolutely no damage to the cello. In fact, it was still in tune! I am so pleased with this case and the amount of protection it offers for the price. It is also a very good looking case. Highly recommended.
