Product Overview and Specifications
Behringer MIC200 Tube Ultragain

The MIC200 can be used to warm-up the sterile, analytical sound of standard digital recordings and sound cards. It is also the perfect complement to studio-grade condenser microphones. When used as a high-end DI-box, it provides outstanding signal integrity. The TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC200 includes a phase reverse switch, +48 V phantom power and 20 dB pad. Balanced 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs and gold-plated XLR connectors provide a nice finishing touch. In addition, it utilizes a carefully selected 12AX7 vacuum tube with UTC technology for exceptional warmth and low noise.

I use my 200 for acoustic/electric. The low cut keeps the bass from rumbling my top and the phase reverse corrects mic-pizo problems. I plug the wart to switch panel on my rack and store the unit on-board so on-off switch is no problem. This is a fine little tool. Thanks, Behringer. P.S. 'Have the 100 model for warm mic pre. Both ride fine in back of rack.

I was told I needed a preamp for the best sound in recording, I noticed that I had to turn the gain knobs almost all the way down to prevent a clipping signal ....but I’ve been using it for an electric guitar into my pro tools studio. ... I think for the price it was a good choice for me....

I use the preamp with keyboards to smooth the sound, and make certain sounds less harsh in cheap speakers. The 200 works well and is a good buy. I wish there was a way to get rid of all wall wart transformers forever. Or, a least a standardized 9v model for all equipment on your rack.
