Behringer Single-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone B-5
The B-5 single diaphragm condenser type microphone offers versatility in a road-proof design at an unbelievable price. Its 2 interchangeable capsules for selecting cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, low-mass gold sputtered diaphragm for ultimate sound reproduction and top-notch quality components throughout, make the B-5 the musicians' and recording engineers' microphone of choice for a variety of studio and live applications.
An ultra low-noise transformerless FET input eliminates low-frequency distortion. And owing to its super-wide frequency response and incredible musicality, the B-5 is perfect for recording acoustic instruments, cymbals, drum overheads and voice. Its unique switchable low-frequency roll-off and -10dB input attenuation make the B-5 the most versatile microphone in its class.
While rugged construction, a satin nickel-plated brass body and a gold-plated 3-pin XLR output connector round out the professional feature set. The B-5 comes with a custom microphone stand adapter, windscreen and transport case.

My thoughts substantially match Douglas' (6/29/2004), he wrote "This is a pretty good dual capsule condenser mic for the money. I have compared it to my Oktava MK 012...and it does not have the the warmth of the MK 012. It sounds pretty good for $90, but in this case, you get what you pay for."
I also compare this to my Oktava 012. Not nearly the quality mic. Somewhat thin sounding overall. Dual capsules are a nice feature. Good mic for general use where true high quality sound is not needed.

This is a pretty good dual capsule condenser mic for the money. Contrary to rumor, it is not identical to the Studio Projects C4, a pair of which I also own. I have compared it to my Oktava MK 012 and the SP C4 and it does not have the the warmth of the MK 012 or the high end sheen of the C4. It sounds pretty good for $90, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I think it will be fine for mic'ing percussion for live performances, but I would reach for one of the other mics for serious recording.
