The 996 features a plastic body and silver plated headjoint. Ideal for the school program, the Barrington is at home on the marching field or concert stage. A warm, full tone and even scale are but a few of the excellent features. |

My dad sent me this piccolo for Christmas. I had never played piccolos before, just the flute for three years. It took me awhile to learn, but the Barrington piccolo made learning easy. Its worth 5 stars.

I liked this piccolo. It plays very nicely and it was very easy for me to switch from flute to piccolo during a concert. I wasn't use to the style of the piccolo at first. seeing the headjoint go on the outside of the body was different for me, plus the cork on the end of the body was different for me too. I later liked this feature because then the head joint wouldn't change positions, and change the intonation during a concert or marching band because the cork kept it in place. this is a very nice piccolo and easy to play. I would recommend buying it.

I like this piccolo, but the styles are different from the ones with lip plates, thats why its very difficult to switch from piccolo to flute, or vice-versa, also the style of music is different, as the lip plates are good for concert band, but the ones without lip-plates are good for marching, for the style needed, our school marches without lip plates, but we also use them for concert, it doesn't sound very nice in concert, but this piccolo is very good for concert season......
