Good mouthpieces but not the best

Well, during my time trying out trombone mouthpieces, specifically bass trombone mouthpieces, I found them to be very moderate. The mouthpiece I tried was the 2G. It’s a versatile mouthpiece. Both high and low registers can be played fairly easily, although the exterior design could be more eye-catching. My "visiting artist" from my high school was there and he was listening to which mouthpiece sounded best for me. He said through his experience the tone from the Bach mouthpieces is bland. He said there isn’t a unique sound or an "edge" to it. The band department rep at the music store (who studied bass trombone) said they're a solid mouthpiece and that they are easy to play and work with. He said that the 2G is ok for me but since I’m a tuba major he said I don’t really need a really good mouthpiece since it would be more work to get the unique sound and that I don’t play bass trombone all the time. *Extra info (Top 3 mouthpieces (in order) I tried that was best for me were the "Denis Wick 0AL", "Marcinkiewicz 3" and "Bach 2G")

This mouthpiece is a very solid mouthpiece. I bought the 6 1/2 AL. I find it easy to play a wide range of notes and dynamic levels. It might not be the easiest to play very high notes or very low notes, but I find it easy to play a wide range of notes indoors as well as outdoors.
