AP445-103 Overview
The AP445-103 is a one-of-a-kind seamless switcher that switches audio as well as video! This unit can be used by itself, or in conjunction with other AV systems. With the AP445-103, audio and video content switches seamlessly and this unit also converts scales, scan reduces, converts standards, and transcodes virtually any video input signal to any output signal. Other features of the AP445-103 include aspect ratio conversion, genlock, picture-in-picture, as well as being 100% MultiTasker compatible.
The compact design and flexibility of the AP445-103 make it the ideal tool for AV systems of any size or as a stand-alone system. The AP445-103 converts images to match almost any presentation device including LCD projectors, CRT monitors, projection TVs, plasma displays, and HDTV systems.
Video
The nine video inputs and three video outputs comprise the following formats: S-video, component video, composite video, HDTV, and computer RGBHV resolutions ranging from 640x480 to 1920x1440. The AP445-103 is capable of auto-detecting and processing all common video standards without the need for user intervention.
The picture-in-picture feature allows the placement of any type of video signal to be placed onto any other video format. Zoom/shrink with pan features is available and can be used during picture-in-picture mode. The AP445-103 provides the capacity of seamless switching with fades.
The AP445-103 Logo Insertion ability allows a logo image to be displayed on any output. A standard Altinex logo is provided, but another logo may be provided to Altinex at the time of purchase. The desired logo will be factory programmed into the memory of the AP445-103. The logo may be selected as an input source through front panel control or over the RS-232 port.
In addition to all the special features, the AP445-103 also has basic picture controls and adjustments. On each video input, there are adjustments for color, hue, brightness and contrast. Each PC input signal allows adjustments of red, green, and blue contrast levels as well as RGB video signal level. Each setting is stored in memory on the AP445-103. The settings are unique to the output and each output type can store its own individualized settings.
Audio
The audio inputs are balanced inputs, but may also be wired to receive unbalanced audio signals; the two audio outputs are both balanced outputs for the best performance. The gain control of the output audio signal is available for the main output. Preview Audio output will always provide unity gain and the system is designed to have audio follow video automatically.
RS-232 Control
Altinex includes a robust command selection that provides full control of the AP445-103 over the RS-232 port. The commands are easy to follow and fully documented. Commands for common control setups and special feature controls may be saved in standard text files. These text files may be used to send a series of commands to the AP445-103 quickly and easily using standard RS-232 communication software, such as Hyper Terminal or other control systems.
