Product Overview and Specifications
AKG D330 Drum Pack

D-110
Designed specifically for bass drums, the D110 features a cardioid pattern that captures sound from the entire bass head and a 147dB SPL tolerance at 1% THD. 50Hz-18kHz frequency range captures the full force of your kick. Also usable on baritone sax, trombone, bass amps, etc.

D-220
Cardioid pattern and high SPL handling of 147dB at only 1% THD combines with a frequency range of 70Hz-20kHz that's custom tweaked for snare, toms, and percussion. The Doubleflex anti-vibration system and rugged all-metal housing minimize handling and cable noise.

I am using the two D-220's for over heads, and the D-110 for the kick (of course!). It would be better if the over head mics were condensers, but I don't have a ton of $$ and these sound great for what I am doing (demos in my home studio). I am knocked out by how heavy and solid they feel. If I were using them live, I would not be worried about them getting damaged or holding up, since they are built like little tanks!

The kick drum mic sounds great in this set. The tom mics sound good too. I have a 4 piece kit and I am using a trusty SM-57 that I already own on the snare, and the AKG's on the rest of the kit. SOUNDS GREAT. I have used the AKG D-112 in the past, and was very happy with it, but this mic sounds pretty darn close (with a little EQ from the mixer!), and it's a LOT cheaper.
